Vision
To be a model diplomatic Mission in pursuit of Kenya’s national and strategic interests, particularly in Australia, New Zealand and the Asia Pacific Region.

Mission

To articulate and implement Kenya’s foreign policy as relates to Australia, New Zealand and the Asia Pacific region in the interest of the people of Kenya through effective diplomatic engagement.

Core Functions

The core functions of the High Commission are derived from the wider functions cut out for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs vide Presidential Circular No. 1/2004. These include:

 

  • Implementation of Kenya’s Foreign Policy as relates to Australia, New Zealand and the Asia Pacific Region

  • Initiation of establishment of Joint Permanent Commissions with Australia and New Zealand and the Asia Pacific region

  • Interact with other Foreign Missions in Australia and New Zealand in pursuit of Kenya’s Foreign Policy goals and objectives

  • Negotiate conclusion of Agreements with Australia and New Zealand in fields of mutual interest

  • Facilitate state and/or official visits to Australia and New Zealand by Kenyan delegations

  • Facilitate protocol arrangement with Australia and New Zealand in respect of visiting delegations and individual officials

  • Providing consular services to Kenyans in Australia, New Zealand and the Asia Pacific region

  • Ensure effective participation in Pan African Affairs in countries of accreditation

  • Participate in Commonwealth Affairs in the countries of accreditation
